Firefighters Make Headway On Two Bastrop County Wildfires

Firefighters are getting handle on a couple of wildfires in Bastrop County. Texas A&M Forest Service says the Mesquite Field Fire in the southern part of the county has burned 38-acres since Wednesday and is 95% contained as of Thursday afternoon. The Powder Keg Fire near Bastrop State Park has burned 117-acres since Tuesday and is 80%contained. The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning on Thursday because of the low relative humidity and dry conditions.
