Houston center fielder Chas McCormick homered twice to lead the Astros to a 3-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians at Minute Maid Park. McCormick went hit a two-run homer in the second inning and a solo shot in the sixth to up his season total to 15 long balls. Phil Maton earned the win in relief, while Ryan Pressly recorded his 26th save. The Astros swept Cleveland to improve to 62-and-47. They will travel to face the New York Yankees tonight. Right-hander Cristian Javier will start the series opener.
