The Texas Rangers cruised to a series opening win over the White Sox. Texas defeated Chicago 2-0 at Globe Life Field. Starting pitcher Andrew Heaney struck out 11 batters over six scoreless innings to earn his eighth win. Will Smith locked down the ninth for his 18th save. Adolis Garcia and Mitch Garver both hit solo homers as the Rangers improved to 61-and-46. Right-hander Dane Dunning will take the mound against Chicago tonight.
