Astros Defeat Guardians In Series Opener

The Astros surged past the Cleveland Guardians for a 7-3 win in their series opener at Minute Maid Park. Yordan Alvarez hit his 19th home run on a three-run shot in the sixth inning to propel Houston to its second win in the last five games. Astros starter J.P. France earned his seventh win, while Ryan Pressly recorded his 25th save. Kyle Tucker drove in a pair of runs as Houston improved to 60-and-47. Left-hander Framber Valdez will take the hill for Houston tonight. He will start opposite Cleveland righty Gavin Williams.
