A San Antonio Congressman protesting a new state law nixing water breaks for construction workers. Yesterday, Representative Greg Casar and labor rights activist Dolores Huerta went on a thirst strike on the steps of the U.S. Capitol to showcase their point. The move comes as House Bill 2127 that supersedes local ordinances like the one that mandates water breaks for workers out in the Texas heat. Casar also hosted a vigil outside the Capitol in honor of 24-year-old Gabriel Infante who died from heat stroke last year while installing fiber optic cable in San Antonio.
