Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill has been honored as the Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year. He received the awared during round one of the 2023 Upper Deck NHL Draft at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Later in the draft,  the Stars selected defenseman Tristan Bertucci with the 61st overall pick in the second round.  Dallas made a total of six selections over the seven-round draft. The Stars were among the teams without a first-round pick.
