The Rangers lost their third straight game. Texas fell to the Detroit Tigers 7-2 in the series opener at Globe Life Field. Adolis Garcia and Marcus Semien both launched solo home runs in the losing effort. Starting pitcher Andrew Heaney was charged the loss after he allowed six earned runs through five-and-two-thirds innings. Despite the losing streak, the Rangers remain atop the AL West at 47-and-31. They will send southpaw Martin Perez to the hill against Detroit tonight.
