The Rangers kicked off their three-game set in Detroit with a shutout win. Texas defeated the Tigers 5-0 at Comerica Park. Corey Seager was 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBI and one run scored in the win. Starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi won his sixth straight decision after striking out four through five scoreless frames. The Rangers sit atop the AL West at 34-and-19. They will send southpaw Martin Perez to the hill for the start against Detroit tonight.
