Mike McCarthy is looking to avoid a fine for his coaching style during Organized Team Activities. The head coach of the Dallas Cowboys was fined in 2021 and 2022 for what the NFL deemed as "too much contact in the offseason practices that are conducted without pads." McCarthy said that Cowboys practices this spring "are basically walkthroughs and jogthroughs" while also noting that Dallas "won't have a competitive 11-on-11 drill here probably ever again in the offseason." A third violation of the rules could potentially lead to the team losing a draft pick.
