The Dallas Stars came up short in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, with Brett Howden scoring in overtime to give the Vegas Golden Knights the win.

The Stars led 1-0 after the first period, but were tied 1-1 after 2. Both teams scored 2 goals in the third period, forcing the overtime. Howden put the puck in the net with less than 2 minutes into the overtime to give the Golden Knights the 4-3 win.

Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson and Jamie Benn scored goals for the Stars in the loss.

Game 2 is set for Sunday afternoon in Vegas.
