A monument is now in place on the campus of Santa Fe High School to commemorate those who died in the 2018 school shooting. Thursday was the fifth anniversary of the shooting that killed eight students and two teachers, and wounded 13 others. The 12-foot tall statue called "Warrior Spirit" depicts an American Indian warrior holding a spear decorated with ten eagle feathers representing the ten who died. A ceremony took place at the school on Thursday afternoon, attended by members of local American Indian tribes.
