A Texas A&M University-Commerce professor is attempting to fail all his students after accusing them of using ChatGPT to cheat. Jared Mumm of Texas A&M University-Commerce sent the email to students in his animal science class on Monday saying he ran the assignments through ChatGPT twice to conclude that they cheated. This despite the fact ChatGPT -- a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology -- cannot be used to detect AI-generated writing. The school said in a statement that Mumm is working with students regarding their last assignments and some have received a temporary incomplete while it's determined whether they used AI or not.
