One of the top pitching prospects in the Texas Rangers organization is set to miss the remainder of the 2023 season. Kumar Rocker will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery after he was found to have a torn ligament in his right elbow. Rocker was selected third overall by Texas in 2022. The 23-year-old was 2-and-2 with a 3.86 ERA in six starts for Single-A Hickory this season. Rangers general manager Chris Young said that Rocker is "just a man on a mission, and he knows this is part of his journey."Â
