Another Texas Democrat is reportedly planning to run against Senator Ted Cruz. According to the Washington Post, longtime State Senator Roland Gutierrez intends to enter the race for Cruz's seat in 2024. Gutierrez is from San Antonio but also represents Uvalde, and he entered the national spotlight after the shooting at Robb Elementary School last year. He joins Congressman Colin Allred in the Democratic primary to face Cruz, who is seeking a third term in office.
