A push to raise the age needed to buy an assault weapon in Texas is dead. The legislation passed out of a committee at the last minute, but did not get placed on the calendar for a vote. Parents of the Uvalde school shooting victims have been lobbying for the bill, which would require buyers be 21-years old. The gunman bought the same murder weapon days after his 18th birthday.
