The Astros scored three runs in the fifth inning en route to a 3-1 victory over the Angels in Anaheim. Martin Maldonado hit a two-run shot before Yordan Alvarez brought in the third run with an RBI single later in the frame. Starting pitcher Framber Valdez improved to 3-and-4 after striking out a dozen batters through eight innings. Ryan Pressly finished things off on the mound to notch his fifth save of the year. The Astros improve to 18-and-18. They visit LA again this afternoon with right-hander Cristian Javier on the hill.
