The judge in the case of the Santa Fe mass shooting is now off the case. A court granted a defense motion to have Judge Jeth Jones disqualified from handling the case on Monday afternoon. Last month, defense attorneys for the suspect, Dimitrios Pagourtzis, filed a motion to have Jones disqualified for a conflict of interest. A former law firm partner of Jones met with Pagourtzis shortly after the 2018 shooting to discuss the possibility of representing him. Judge Lonnie Cox will now preside over the case.
