The owner of a downtown bar in the path of the Alamo Plaza development is suing the city over his property's appraisal. Vince Cantu and his attorney claim the city and its partners forced a third-party appraiser to lower the appraisal value of Mose's Rose Hideout. The appraiser RSI came up with a value of just over $5 million, but Cantu says it should be more like $9 million. Cantu and his lawyer have filed a lawsuit to get depositions from the Alamo Trust and RSI. The city plans to initiate eminent domain proceedings on May 8th.
