The Rockets introduced their newest head coach on Wednesday. Ime Udoka will step in as the 16th head coach in Houston's team history. Udoka did not coach in the NBA this season after being suspended and then later dismissed by the Boston Celtics when they decided to move forward with Joe Mazzulla as their head coach. The 45-year-old coached Boston to a 51-and-31 record in 2022 and a trip to the NBA Finals in his lone season leading the Celtics. Udoka, who was also an assistant coach with the Spurs, replaces Stephen Silas, who compiled a 59-and-177 record in three years in Houston.
