The Rangers suffered a tough loss in their road series opener. Texas lost to the Reds 7-6 in Cincinnati. Jose Leclerc was charged the loss in relief, while Will Smith gave up a walk-off RBI single to TJ Friedl. Josh Jung launched a pair of home runs and drove in three runs in the loss. The Rangers dropped to 14-and-8. Texas sends southpaw Martin Perez to the mound tonight. In other team news, Adolis Garcia was named the American League Player of the Week on Monday.
