The U-S Supreme Court is giving the green light to further DNA testing in the appeals case of Texas death row inmate Rodney Reed. The high court ruled 6-3 in Reed's favor on Wednesday. The decision reverses a ruling by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that said Reed waited too long to file his claim that prosecutors' refusal to test the murder weapon violated his civil rights. The Supreme Court said the statute of limitations hadn't run out for his request. Reed was convicted in 1998 for the murder of Stacey Stites in Bastrop County.
