The budget debates between the Texas Senate and the House are about to begin. The Senate on Monday gave its final and unanimous approval to a $308 billion spending plan for the next two-years. The Texas House approved a $302 billion budget just over a week ago. The two versions agree on issues such as mental health services, border security, and public schools, but they differ in their approaches to property tax cuts. The legislative session ends in just a few weeks.
