Travis County D-A Jose Garza is requesting a meeting with the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles to present evidence the jurors considered in the case of Daniel Perry. A jury convicted Perry of murder on Friday for the 2020 shooting death of armed protester Garrett Foster during a riot in Austin. Governor Greg Abbott tweeted the next day that he'll pardon Perry as soon as he gets a recommendation for a pardon from the board. Perry hasn't yet been sentenced.
