A bill to decriminalize fentanyl test strips is on its way to the Texas House today after its initial approval on Monday. Republican Representative Tom Oliverson of Cypress filed House Bill 362, which would take fentanyl test strips off the state's "drug paraphernalia" list. Supporters say the strips can prevent overdose deaths by helping people tell if a drug they're about to take contains fentanyl. If the bill gets the final approval of the House today then it will head to the Senate.
