Jon Gray delivered a strong start and the Texas offense was clicking as the Rangers downed the Chicago Cubs 8-2 at Wrigley Field. Gray allowed two earned runs and three walks while striking out four over five-and-two-thirds innings. At the plate, Marcus Semien went two-for-five with three RBI and a run scored. Bubba Thompson contributed with two RBI and two runs scored while hitting one double and a triple to help Texas improve to 5-and-4. The Rangers return home to host the Kansas City Royals tonight, with southpaw Andrew Heaney set to start on the hill.
