The Astros failed to pull out a win in extra innings. Houston lost to the Detroit Tigers 7-6 in an 11-inning battle at Minute Maid Park. Yordan Alvarez blasted his second home run of the season with a three-run bomb in the fifth inning while Alex Bregman totaled three hits in the losing effort. Hector Neris was charged with the loss after allowing the game-winning runs in the 11th. The Astros are now 2-and-3. They will send southpaw Framber Valdez to the mound against Detroit tonight.
