Texas lawmakers are weighing a permanent ban of TikTok on government devices. The push is led by State Senator Brian Birdwell, who says the Chinese-owned app poses a threat to the privacy and security of Texans. If passed, his bill would ban TikTok on a wide swath of state-owned devices. That includes the ones issued to college and public school teachers, but not their personal cell phones. The governor of Texas has already banned TikTok on state government-issued devices.
