The North American Aerospace Defense Command confirms it launched aircraft to investigate an object that was spotted flying over the state of Texas yesterday. Officials say the NORAD aircraft intercepted the object over south central Texas and determined it was likely a hobbyist Pico balloon and posed no military or safety threat. NORAD said it planned to continue to monitor the object. It follows a series of incidents involving balloons after the downing of a Chinese spy balloon off the South Carolina coast last month.
