The Spurs topped the Magic 132-114 in a game at the AT&T Center on Tuesday night. Jeremy Sochan led the Spurs with 29 points. Zach Collins added 25. The Spurs are back in action tonight against the Mavericks.

POSTGAME QUOTES:

Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich

(On tonight’s game…)

“We had a lot of guys play well. Zach and Jeremy were outstanding. They were special tonight. If you make 22 threes, you’re going to have a pretty damn good night. That’s just the way the rules are. We don’t do that very often, but we did it tonight and it was fun to watch. More importantly, we had 39 assists, which is really fantastic. All and all, it was a good night for the boys.”

(On the Jeremy Sochan and Zach Collins connection…)

“They’re all getting use to each other. It takes a while and as time goes by you can see the improvement in them as far as time together and minutes on the court. Zach has been out for a while, and then Jeremy’s out. You know, back and forth. But down here in the stretch, they have been getting to play together a lot more; all of our main guys, so that’s good.”

Spurs Forward Doug McDermott

(On franchise record of 22 three-pointers …)

“That was awesome. The ball was moving all night long. Guys were getting in the paint, finding the open man, and that was our emphasis this morning at shootaround was to get in the paint, because Orlando collapses, and we obviously took advantage of that.”

(On young players development…)

“They're doing a great job. We've had a lot of injuries this year. So, a lot of guys have had opportunities and they all step in. They know how to play. They're all very well coached their whole lives and you can tell that they're unselfish. Pop and our staff preach unselfishness. So he's going to call you out if you take a bad one and you miss someone. So, I think that kind of just trickles down to the whole team.”

Spurs Shooting Guard Devin Vassell

(On 39 assists and knowing each other better…)

“We were moving the ball a lot. Coach called a lot of flow. We were moving the ball, changing side to side and I think we got to the paint a lot and got a lot of open shots, especially for Doug. Doug got a lot of kick out threes and stuff like that and that's just kind of how we got to play. That's really the Spurs way. It’s just moving the ball and getting a great shot. That's what we did tonight.”

(On if it's hard to have patience with yourself through the heat of the battle…)

“I know what I expect of myself. I’m very hard on myself. I feel like I’m the hardest on myself, so I just got to be patient. We just won a game, so I can't sit here or be mad about anything. Keep making progress with it. Like I said, I got great teammates, man. They're sitting there telling me to keep going. Don't matter how many shots I missed, they want me to keep shooting.”
