More than a handful of men's college hoops programs throughout Texas are set to compete for a national title.
Houston enters the NCAA Tournament as the number-one seed in the Midwest region. The Cougars will challenge 16th-seeded Northern Kentucky in the first round in Birmingham on Thursday night.
The second-seeded Longhorns will face Colgate in the first round of the Midwest region in Des Moines on Thursday.
Baylor is the third-seed in the South Region. The Bears will play UC Santa Barbara in Denver on Friday afternoon.
TCU is the sixth-seed in the West Region and play the winner of the First Four matchup between Arizona State and Nevada in Denver on Friday night.
Texas A&M will play Penn State in Des Moines on Thursday night in the Midwest Region. The Aggies are the seventh-seed.
In the First Four, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will play Southeast Missouri State tonight while Texas Southern matches up against Fairleigh Dickinson tomorrow.
