San Antonio lawmakers are filing three bills intended to help protect the public from dangerous dogs. State Representatives Elizabeth Campos and Diego Bernal, and State Senator Jose Menendez, are behind the bills. The proposed legislation would increase the criminal penalty for a dangerous dog attack, allow animal services to deem a dog to be dangerous without a victim's affidavit, and allow victims to file dangerous dog affidavits anonymously. The bills come in response to a dog attack two-weeks ago that killed an elderly man.
