There is a big time quarterback competition brewing in Austin. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said that there will be an open competition for the starting quarterback job between sophomore Quinn Ewers and freshman Arch Manning. The coach said that while Ewers has a one-year head start, he doesn't want "to hold Arch back." Both players were top five recruits on the ESPN 300 coming out of high school. Ewers threw for 2,177 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions in 10 starts for the Longhorns last season after transferring from Ohio State.
