The matriarch of San Antonio's most notable political family now has an office of her own. Rosie Castro was sworn in this morning as an interim member of the San Antonio City Council. She is the mother of U.S. Congressman Joaquin Castro and former San Antonio mayor Julian Castro, who gave a speech supporting his mother before the council voted unanimously in her favor. Castro will serve the final three months of her predecessor's term as the District Seven council member.
