Apartment Fire North Of Downtown Hospitalizes Two In Critical Condition

Two people are hospitalized in critical condition after an apartment complex fire north of downtown on Tuesday night. Firefighters responded to the blaze at the Blanco Apartments on Huisache. San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood says the fire started in a third-floor unit, and crews used a ladder to rescue up to 20 people from balconies on the second, third and fourth floors. So far the cause of the fire is unknown. The fire department is working with the San Antonio Housing Authority to find a place to stay for those displaced.
