A federal judge is tossing out a lawsuit that presented a narrow challenge to the ban on abortions in Texas after about six-weeks of pregnancy. The lawsuit was filed last April by former State Sen. Wendy Davis, best known for her 13-hour filibuster of an abortion bill in 2013. The suit challenges the 2021 bill that allows private citizens to sue anyone who "aids or abets" in an abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected. Davis sued some pro-life activists who threatened to sue abortion funds that help Texans get abortions in other states.
