A downtown bar still faces possible state takeover by eminent domain. Moses Rose's Hideout is on East Houston Street, in the path of planned development of the Alamo Visitor Center and Museum. Bart owner Vince Cantu appeared with his wife and his lawyer at a press conference on Wednesday to say the latest negotiations with the Texas General Land Office were "unsuccessful." They didn't say how much they're asking for the property, or how much the Texas General Land Office offered for it.
