The man who shot and killed 22 people at a Walmart in El Paso is off to prison after pleading guilty to dozens of hate crimes. Patrick Crusius confessed to targeting people of Mexican descent during the 2019 shooting. On Wednesday, after prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty, Crusius pled guilty to 45 various hate crime charges and 45 gun crime violations. The court handed him 90 consecutive life sentences. Crusius is a self-described white nationalist who said he wanted to deter illegal immigrants from entering the U.S.
