The Texans are closing in on their next head coach. NFL Insider Adam Schefter is reporting that San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans is considered the favorite to land the job in Houston. Ryans interviewed with Houston on January 20th. He has also been interviewed for the vacancies in Denver and Indianapolis. The 38-year-old former linebacker played the first six seasons of his NFL career with Houston after being drafted in the second round out of Alabama. The Texans also reportedly think highly of Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. Houston will be hiring their third different head coach in the last three years.
