CPS Energy trustees are making decisions about how the utility will power the greater San Antonio area in the years ahead. CPS leaders told City Council members last week about a plan to use both renewable and non-renewable energy sources over the next seven-years. The utility's rate advisory committee recommended the plan to use natural gas, solar, wind, and energy storage, but to phase out coal by 2028. Environmental groups approve of the idea.
