Social media users are more inclined to browse platforms than post content to them. That's according to new data from Gallup. It finds that less than half of U.S. adults who commonly spend time on Social media create their own content. The survey found that the three most commonly used platforms were Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Just under half of Facebook users and 42-percent of Instagram users say they post content occasionally. While YouTube reported some of the highest usage, only eleven-percent ever upload their own content. The poll also found that while Social media is more frequently used among younger people, posting content still appears to be the exception rather than the rule. This leads experts to conclude Americans use Social media as an informational resource more so than a stage to share their own experiences and opinions.
