Number Of Children Accidentally Eating Cannabis Edibles Increases

The number of young children who accidentally ate cannabis edibles has dramatically increased in the last five years. According to a new analysis, more than seven-thousand kids under age six were exposed to edibles between 2017 and 2021. In 2020, accidental exposure to edibles in children accounted for nearly half of all exposure calls made to poison centers. Researchers say increased legalization across the US has made edibles more widely available, including those that are sold to look like candy.
