A special committee of the Texas Senate is making a list of policy recommendations to improve school safety after the shooting in Uvalde. The eight Republicans and three Democrats on the Special Committee to Protect All Texans released their report last week. Most of their recommendations focused on stepping up campus security and investing in mental health care. The nearly 100-page report will serve as a guideline for legislative improvements in the upcoming session of the Texas Legislature, which convenes next month.
