The Uvalde CISD school board is focusing safety and security as the year draws to an end. Interim superintendent Gary Patterson addressed the board on Monday at their final meeting of 2022. His year-end report stated that the district spent almost five-million-dollars in grants and funding on safety and security upgrades. The expenditures covered new fencing, police department equipment, cameras, new doors, and salaries. The replacement doors for the Uvalde High School campus are back-ordered because of supply chain problems.
