Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 62-year-old man on the Northeast Side. Officers responded about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday to the attack on Perrin Beitel near the 410 North Loop. They found the victim with a stab wound near some mailboxes. He later died at a local hospital. Police say the stabbing resulted from a dispute with a man in his 40s who was acquainted with the victim. The suspect left the scene after the attack. Police say he'll probably be charged with murder if they take him into custody.
