Congress is holding a hearing focused on finding solutions to stop gun violence months after the deadly school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee of the Lone Star State called for a ban on assault weapons, like the one used in the shooting that left 21 dead. She said the victims and their families were failed by the nation's loose gun laws. Meanwhile, Republican Congressman Andy Biggs of Arizona said Democrats' gun control proposals will do nothing to curb gun violence. He attributed mass shooting incidents to root causes such as a dysfunctional home life.
