Gov. Greg Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick are disagreeing about a couple of significant issues ahead of the 2023 state legislative session. They both want to use the state's $27 billion budget surplus to pay for property tax relief, but they differ on how to go about it. In addition, Patrick says it's a top priority to continue fixing the power grid, while Abbott has said the problem is solved. Abbott and Patrick will both have influence over pending legislation when the next legislative session starts on January 10th.
