The state's two senators are disagreeing over a matter having to do with a potential railroad strike. The House passed two separate resolutions on Wednesday, one authorizing Congress to compel unions to accept a contract deal not to strike, and a separate measure authorizing seven paid sick days for rail workers. The Senate passed the contract deal, but not the sick leave measure. Senator Ted Cruz supported the sick leave measure, but Senator John Cornyn opposed it. In a rare moment on Capitol Hill, the conservative Republican Cruz and liberal Independent Bernie Sanders are in agreement.
