Border Patrol Seizes Meth Worth $8M+ In Laredo

Homeland Security agents are investigating after the Border Patrol seized more than $8 million worth of meth at a Laredo port of entry.Ā The seizure happened on Monday at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge.Ā Border Patrol officers referred a 34-year-old man driving a tractor pulling an empty trailer for secondary inspection.Ā Officers found more than 900-pounds of meth inside the truck.Ā They seized the truck, the trailer, and the drugs, and arrested the driver and the passenger.

ā€œMethamphetamine is a controlling and highly addictive chemical substance that gravely affects its consumers,ā€ saidĀ Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry. ā€œOfficers at the Laredo Port of Entry utilize their enforcement strategies to target high-risk commodities and intercept these deadly narcotics at the border.ā€
