Texas is continuing a trend of record job growth. The state has added nearly 700,000 new jobs since October of last year, reaching 12 straight months of record-high employment levels. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says Texas had the highest job growth in the nation over the past year, at a rate of more than five-percent. The Texas Workforce Commission says the state's unemployment rate was 4% in October, same as in September. That puts the state jobless rate at its lowest since before the pandemic.
