Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar's overtime pay requirements at the jail continue to exceed what the county has budgeted. On Tuesday, Salazar asked Commissioners Court for two-point-seven-million-dollars to cover the estimated mandatory jail overtime between October 8th and December 23rd. Commissioners approved a figure half a million-dollars lower. Overtime at the jail is costing county taxpayers about a million-dollars a month, and the trend shows no sign of letting up.
